Irene (Eirini) Anastasiadou

Irene Anastasiadou stayed at the Center between September 2017 and December 2018.

Irene (Eirini) Anastasiadou holds a PhD in the History of Technology from the Department of Engineering and Innovation Sciences at the Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands) and a Master degree in History and Philosophy of Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens (Greece). Her PhD thesis examined the railway internationalization in Europe in the interwar years, and was published as a book by Amsterdam University Press in 2011. Dr. Anastasiadou’s research has been funded by the Greek State Fellowship Foundation, the European Union, the and the Thyssen Foundation (Germany). 

She is an active member of various academic professional societies, including the International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility (T2M) and the Society for the History of Technology (SHOT). She has taught and worked as a researcher in various institutions in the Netherlands. From 2014 to 2016 she worked as an IPODI Marie Curie Fellow at the Technical University of Berlin. In 2016 and 2017, she offered a course on “Transport and Mobility in Modern Asia” at the China Centre of the TU Berlin.
