Mazhar Abbas


Mazhar Abbas did his Master in History at Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad (top-tiered university), Pakistan in 2009. During his Master he conducted research on the topic, “Landed Aristocracy during the Bhutto Era 1972-1977” under the supervision of Dr. Tanvir Anjum

In June 2011, he joined the Government College University, Faisalabad (Pakistan), as a lecturer in History. In 2016, he secured three scholarships for a PhD ie Higher Education Commission of Pakistan's Indigenous Scholarship (Phase-II, Batch-III) for PhD in History from Pakistan, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan's Overseas Scholarship (Phase-II, Batch-VII) for PhD in History from France, and Bilateral Cultural Exchange Scholarship (CSC) for PhD in Global Studies (World History) from Shanghai University, China. He accepted the third scholarship and joined Shanghai University for PhD in Global Studies (World History) in September 2016. In addition, he has won two merit scholarships during his academic career: Merit Scholarship in Matric, Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Lahore, and Merit Scholarship in Intermediate,


Mazhar Abbas is also a reviewer of the journal, Pakistan Journal of History and Culture , National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research, Center of Excellence, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad (Pakistan).
