Ved Baruah



Ved Baruah is Associate Professor at Shanghai University after having been based at the Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He works on the social history of drugs and its intersections with international policy, regulation and public health in the modern era. For the academic year 2017-18, he was Fellow at the David F. Musto Centre for Drug Policy Studies, Shanghai University, China (2017-18) on a Wellcome Trust ECR Fellowship. He is working on a monograph on opium in modern India and developing a project on public health and urban development in early 20th century India.
